| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe After Effects version 18.2 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to a Heap-based Buffer Overflow when parsing a specially crafted file, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations
For Adobe After Effects version 18.2 and earlier, update to a version that is not affected by this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of specially crafted files that could trigger the Heap-based Buffer Overflow until a patch is available. Restrict access to untrusted files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
Heap Based Buffer Overflow
