| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
MB connect line mbDIALUP versions <= 3.9R0.0
Description
The issue is related to insufficient access control in the mbConnect24serv component, allowing a low-privileged local attacker to send a command to the service running with NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM privileges. This can lead to the execution of a malicious OpenVPN configuration, resulting in arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the service.
Recommendations
For MB connect line mbDIALUP versions <= 3.9R0.0, consider restricting access to the service running with NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM privileges until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using malicious OpenVPN configurations and restrict the execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the service. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
