CVE-2021-42738

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Adobe Prelude versions 10.1 and earlier
Description The issue is related to a memory corruption vulnerability due to insecure handling of a malicious MXF file. This could potentially result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. User interaction is required, as the victim must open a specially crafted file to exploit this vulnerability. The vulnerability is also described as a buffer overflow issue, which may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For Adobe Prelude version 10.1 and earlier, update to a version later than 10.1 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of malicious MXF files until a patch is available. Restrict access to untrusted files to minimize the risk of exploitation.

Fix

Buffer Overflow

Access of Memory Location After End of Buffer
