Description The issue is related to a Heap-based Buffer Overflow when parsing a specially crafted file, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. The vulnerability can be exploited using a specially crafted PDF file.
Recommendations For Adobe After Effects version 18.2 and earlier, consider avoiding the use of the affected file parsing functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the opening of files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
