Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. This can be exploited when a victim opens a malicious TTF file, requiring user interaction. The vulnerability is associated with a buffer overflow in memory, which may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code using a specially crafted file.
Recommendations
For Adobe Photoshop Elements versions 2021 build 19.0 (20210304.m.156367) and earlier, avoid opening malicious or untrusted TTF files to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of TTF files in Adobe Photoshop Elements until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
