CVSS v3.1

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Sourcecodester Online Event Booking and Reservation System (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue exists due to the lack of measures to neutralize special elements, allowing a remote attacker to exploit it and potentially disclose protected information. An HTML injection vulnerability is present in the system via the msg parameter to "/event-management/index.php". This vulnerability can be leveraged by an attacker to change the visibility of the website. Once a target user clicks on a given link, they will display the content of the attacker's chosen HTML code.
Recommendations As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the /event-management/index.php endpoint until a patch is available. Avoid using the msg parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
