CVE-2021-3197

CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SaltStack Salt versions prior to 3002.5
Description The issue is related to errors in processing input data in the ssh client of the salt-api in SaltStack Salt. This can allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges by including ProxyCommand in an argument or via ssh options provided in an API request.
Recommendations For versions prior to 3002.5, update to version 3002.5 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of ProxyCommand in arguments and restricting the use of ssh options in API requests until a patch is available.
