CVE-2020-36222

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenLDAP versions prior to 2.4.57
Description The issue is related to an insufficient use of the assert() function in the open implementation of the OpenLDAP protocol. It may allow a remote attacker to execute a denial of service attack by sending a specially crafted packet with a short timestamp. The flaw leads to an assertion failure in slapd in the saslAuthzTo validation.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.4.57, update to version 2.4.57 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the saslAuthzTo validation in slapd to minimize the risk of exploitation.
