Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe After Effects versions 18.2 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to a memory corruption vulnerability that occurs when parsing a specially crafted file. This can allow an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations
For Adobe After Effects versions 18.2 and earlier, update to a version that is not affected by this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of specially crafted files that could trigger the memory corruption vulnerability. Restrict access to untrusted files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
