Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Ghostscript GhostPDL versions 9.50 through 9.54.0
Description
The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the
sampled data finish() function, which can be exploited to cause a denial of service. This function is called from sampled data continue and interp.Recommendations
For Ghostscript GhostPDL versions 9.50 through 9.54.0, consider disabling the
sampled data finish() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the interp and sampled data continue functions to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
