Description The issue is related to out-of-bounds reads in the ntfs attr find and ntfs external attr find functions of the NTFS-3G driver. This can be exploited by a crafted NTFS image, potentially allowing an attacker to access confidential data, compromise data integrity, and cause a denial of service.

Recommendations For versions prior to 2021.8.22, update to version 2021.8.22 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of NTFS images from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation.
