Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
NETGEAR XR1000 versions prior to 1.0.0.58
Description
The issue is related to the use of predefined credentials in the NETGEAR XR1000 Wi-Fi router's firmware. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 1.0.0.58, update to version 1.0.0.58 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider changing the predefined credentials to strong, unique passwords until a patch is applied. Restrict access to the router's administration interface to minimize the risk of exploitation.
