Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Prelude versions 22.1.1 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe Prelude, which could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious JPEG file. This could potentially allow a remote attacker to gain elevated privileges and access protected information using a specially crafted JPEG image.
Recommendations
For Adobe Prelude versions 22.1.1 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ability to open JPEG files until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive information and ensure that only trusted files are opened in Adobe Prelude to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
