Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Premiere Pro versions 22.0 (and earlier) and 15.4.2 (and earlier)
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe Premiere Pro that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file, potentially a specially crafted JPEG image. This could allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information.
Recommendations
For versions 22.0 and earlier, update to a version later than 22.0 to resolve the issue.
For versions 15.4.2 and earlier, update to a version later than 15.4.2 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of JPEG files from untrusted sources in Adobe Premiere Pro until a patch is available.
