| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe After Effects versions 22.0 (and earlier) and 18.4.2 (and earlier)
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This could potentially allow a remote attacker to elevate their privileges and gain unauthorized access to protected information.
Recommendations
For Adobe After Effects versions 22.0 and earlier, update to a version later than 22.0 to resolve the issue.
For Adobe After Effects versions 18.4.2 and earlier, update to a version later than 18.4.2 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of JPEG file parsing in Adobe After Effects until a patch is available.
Restrict access to malicious files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
