CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Adobe Media Encoder versions 22.0, 15.4.2 and earlier
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious MOV file. This could potentially allow a remote attacker to elevate their privileges and gain unauthorized access to protected information using a specially crafted MOV file.
Recommendations For Adobe Media Encoder versions 22.0, 15.4.2 and earlier, consider avoiding the use of MOV files from untrusted sources until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the ability to open MOV files in Adobe Media Encoder to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
