CVE-2021-44191

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Adobe After Effects versions 22.0 and earlier Adobe After Effects versions 18.4.2 and earlier
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe After Effects, which could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, in that a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations For Adobe After Effects versions 22.0 and earlier, update to a version later than 22.0 to resolve the issue. For Adobe After Effects versions 18.4.2 and earlier, update to a version later than 18.4.2 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of MP4 file parsing until a patch is available. Restrict access to potentially malicious files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
