Description
The issue is related to an Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This can be done using a specially crafted malicious PDF file.
Recommendations
For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2021.001.20155 and earlier, update to a version later than 2021.001.20155 to resolve the issue.
For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.001.30025 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.001.30025 to resolve the issue.
For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2017.011.30196 and earlier, update to a version later than 2017.011.30196 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to open PDF files from untrusted sources until a patch is available.
