| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FortiPortal versions prior to 6.0.6
Description
The issue is related to the use of a cryptographically weak pseudo-random number generator in the password reset feature, which may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to predict parts of or the whole newly generated password within a given time frame. This could potentially enable a remote attacker to elevate their privileges.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 6.0.6, update to version 6.0.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the password reset feature until a patch is applied. Avoid using the password reset feature in the affected versions until the issue is resolved.
