Description An issue was discovered in the strdup function in box code base.c which has a heap-based buffer over-read. This is related to incorrect handling of a filled string without a x00 character. Exploitation of this issue allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

Recommendations For gpac version 0.8.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the strdup function in box code base.c until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
