CVE-2020-21547

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Libsixel version 1.8.2
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the dither func fs function in tosixel.c. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise data integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Libsixel version 1.8.2, consider disabling the dither func fs function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the tosixel.c component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
