Description The issue is related to a crash in the DNP dissector, which can be exploited to cause a denial of service via packet injection or crafted capture file. This can be triggered by a remote attacker, leading to a disruption in service. The vulnerability is associated with an infinite loop due to an unreachable exit condition.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 3.2.0 through 3.2.14, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. For Wireshark versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.6, update to a version outside of this range to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the DNP dissector until a patch is available.
