Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Framemaker versions 2019 Update 8 and earlier
Adobe Framemaker versions 2020 Release Update 2 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious TIF file. This allows a remote attacker to disclose protected information.
Recommendations
For Adobe Framemaker versions 2019 Update 8 and earlier, update to a version later than Update 8 to resolve the issue.
For Adobe Framemaker versions 2020 Release Update 2 and earlier, update to a version later than Release Update 2 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of TIF files in Adobe Framemaker until a patch is available.
