CVE-2021-36016

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Adobe Media Encoder versions 15.2 and earlier
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read in memory when parsing a specially crafted file, potentially allowing a remote attacker to disclose protected information. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this to read arbitrary file system information in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations For Adobe Media Encoder versions 15.2 and earlier, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of specially crafted files that could trigger the out-of-bounds read vulnerability until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive files and information to minimize the risk of exploitation.
