Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Libelfin version 0.3
Description
The issue is related to insufficient neutralization of special elements in a request, specifically in the dwarf::to string function of the Libelfin library. This allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DOS) by exploiting the vulnerability with a specially crafted ELF file, potentially leading to a segmentation fault.
Recommendations
For Libelfin version 0.3, consider avoiding the use of the dwarf::to string function until a patch is available, or restrict access to the library to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
