CVE-2020-23269

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GPAC version 0.8.0
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the stbl GetSampleSize function of the isomedia/stbl read.c component. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted media file, leading to a denial of service (DOS).
Recommendations For GPAC version 0.8.0, consider disabling the stbl GetSampleSize function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to crafted media files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
