CVE-2022-21451

CVSS v2.0

4.9

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.7.37 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.28 and prior
Description The issue is related to errors in resource release in the InnoDB component of the MySQL Server system. Exploitation of this issue can allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service using MySQL network protocols. The attacker must have high privileges and network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the ability to cause the MySQL Server to hang or crash repeatedly, leading to a complete denial of service.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.7.37 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.37 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.28 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.28 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
