CVSS v3.1

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Imagements plugin versions 1.2.5 and earlier
Description The issue is related to the unlimited upload of dangerous file types when handling Content-Type headers in requests. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files by using a valid image Content-Type along with a PHP filename and code, leading to remote code execution.
Recommendations For Imagements plugin versions 1.2.5 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the image upload functionality in comments until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's upload module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the plugin for uploading files until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
