CVE-2021-45943

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GDAL versions 3.3.0 through 3.4.0
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in the PCIDSK::CPCIDSKFile::ReadFromFile function, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. This function is called from PCIDSK::CPCIDSKSegment::ReadFromFile and PCIDSK::CPCIDSKBinarySegment::CPCIDSKBinarySegment.
Recommendations For GDAL versions 3.3.0 through 3.4.0, consider disabling the PCIDSK::CPCIDSKFile::ReadFromFile function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the PCIDSK library to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
