CVE-2021-36410

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libde265 version 1.0.8
Description A stack-buffer-overflow issue exists in the libde265 video codec, specifically in the put epel hv fallback function of the fallback-motion.cc component. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The issue is related to writing beyond the boundaries of a buffer.
Recommendations For libde265 version 1.0.8, consider disabling the put epel hv fallback function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the fallback-motion.cc component to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
