Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
libslirp versions prior to 4.6.0
Description
An invalid pointer initialization issue was found in the SLiRP networking implementation of QEMU, specifically in the
udp input() function. This issue could occur while processing a UDP packet that is smaller than the size of the udphdr structure, potentially leading to out-of-bounds read access or indirect host memory disclosure to the guest. The highest threat from this issue is to data confidentiality.Recommendations
For libslirp versions prior to 4.6.0, update to version 4.6.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
udp input() function until a patch is available.Fix
