Description
The issue is related to a memory leak in the Linux kernel's platform/x86 component, specifically in the intel pmc core, when device registration fails during module initialization. The platform device structure needs to be freed using
platform device put() to properly free all resources, such as the device name. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
