CVE-2021-47086

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The vulnerability is related to the phonet/pep component of the Linux kernel, which incorrectly handles unbound pipes. This can lead to two problems: sending a pipe enablement request with an invalid source object and later socket calls potentially causing a bug due to the socket being connected yet not bound to a valid object. The issue is associated with the ioctl() function implicitly assuming a bound socket.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
