CVE-2021-47096

CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the rawmidi component of the Linux kernel and involves the use of an uninitialized variable user pversion. This can allow an attacker to cause a denial of service. The problem arises because the file private structure uses kmalloc for allocation, and the kernel ALSA sequencer code clears the file structure, making additional fixes unnecessary.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
