Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a null pointer dereference in the
snd usb set sample rate v2v3() function of the Linux kernel's usb-audio component. This could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service. The problem arises because the cs desc pointer returned from snd usb find clock source could be null, leading to a potential null pointer dereference issue. This is fixed by adding a null check before dereference.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
