CVE-2021-47184

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a null pointer dereference in the i40e component of the Linux kernel. This occurs when synchronizing VSI filters, potentially allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service. A new flag, I40E VSI RELEASING, has been added to signal the deletion and release of VSI resources, synchronizing the thread with the sync filters subtask. Without this patch, it is possible to start updating the VSI filter list after the VSI is removed, causing a kernel oops.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
