CVE-2021-47186

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a null pointer dereference in the tipc component of the Linux kernel. Specifically, the function tipc aead init() is vulnerable, and exploitation can lead to a denial of service. The problem arises because kmemdup can return a null pointer, which is not checked, resulting in a null key being dereferenced later in tipc crypto key xmit.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
