CVE-2021-47201

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a resource management error in the iavf disable vf function of the Linux kernel's iavf component. This error can cause a panic when the interface is disabled and then later brought up again after PF communication is restored. The problem arises because iavf free queues clears adapter->num active queues, which iavf free q vectors relies on. To resolve this, the order of the function calls in iavf disable vf needs to be swapped. An attacker could potentially exploit this issue to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
