CVE-2021-47474

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a bulk-buffer overflow in the comedi driver, specifically in the vmk80xx component. The driver uses endpoint-sized buffers but does not account for the possibility of unequal sizes between the tx and rx buffers, which could allow a malicious device to overflow the slab-allocated receive buffer during bulk transfers. This could potentially lead to a denial of service or allow an attacker to access confidential information.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
