CVE-2021-41388
CVSS v3.1
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Netskope client versions prior to 89.x
Description
The issue is related to a local privilege escalation. The XPC implementation of the nsAuxiliarySvc process does not validate new connections before accepting them, allowing any low-privileged user to connect and call external methods defined in the XPC service as root, thus elevating their privilege to the highest level.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 89.x, update to version 89.x or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the nsAuxiliarySvc process to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
Improper Privilege Management
