CVE-2021-42357

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Apache Knox SSO versions prior to 1.6.1
Description The issue arises from improper URL parsing, allowing a request to be crafted that redirects a user to a malicious page. This can be achieved by including a specially crafted request parameter in the request, which could then redirect the user to a page controlled by an attacker. The malicious URL would need to be presented to the user outside the normal request flow, potentially through a XSS or phishing campaign.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.6.1, update to version 1.6.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to external URLs to minimize the risk of exploitation.
