VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of JT files, specifically when crafted data in a JT file can trigger a write past the end of an allocated buffer. This can be leveraged to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80, consider avoiding the use of JT files from untrusted sources until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the JT file parsing functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
