CVE-2021-46588

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of JT files due to the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on it. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80, update to a version that addresses the JT file parsing issue, specifically ensuring that objects are validated before operations are performed on them. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the opening of JT files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation.
