CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of J2K images due to the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80, consider disabling the J2K image parsing functionality until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to malicious pages or files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
