CVE-2021-46607

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80
Description This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. User interaction is required to exploit this, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of 3DS files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this, in conjunction with other issues, to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Bentley MicroStation CONNECT version 10.16.0.80, consider disabling the parsing of 3DS files as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to potentially malicious files or pages to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
