CVE-2022-1750

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Sticky Popup plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.2
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the popup title parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with admin level capabilities and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The issue mostly affects sites where unfiltered html has been disabled for administrators and on multi-site installations where unfiltered html is disabled for administrators.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.2, consider disabling the popup title parameter until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the popup title parameter in affected pages until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
