CVE-2022-1912

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Button Widget Smartsoft plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.1
Description The issue is due to missing nonce validation on the smartsoftbutton settings page, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update the plugin's settings and inject malicious web scripts via a forged request. This can happen if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.0.1, update to a version that includes nonce validation on the smartsoftbutton settings page to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the smartsoftbutton settings page to minimize the risk of exploitation.
