CVE-2022-20397

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Android kernel
Description The issue is related to a possible out of bounds write in the SitRilClient OnResponse function of SitRilSe.cpp due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not required for exploitation.
Recommendations For Android kernel, consider applying a patch that includes a bounds check in the SitRilClient OnResponse function to prevent out of bounds writes. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to sensitive areas of the kernel to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
