Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android kernel
Description
The issue is related to improper input validation in the
ppmp validate wsm function of drm fw.c, which could lead to a local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not required for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android kernel, consider restricting access to the
ppmp validate wsm function until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, review and enhance input validation mechanisms to prevent potential exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.RCE
