Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android kernel
Description
The issue is related to a possible out of bounds write in the
updateStart function of WirelessCharger.cpp due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with System execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android kernel, consider applying a patch that includes a bounds check in the
updateStart function of WirelessCharger.cpp to prevent out of bounds writes. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the updateStart function to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
Memory Corruption
